Philosophy and values

WANDL embodies Bavarian change. We utilize existing structures, enhance them, transform them, and innovate – be it a farm, a concept, an old gas station, or a meadow. We want to share the joy this brings us with our guests. Behind WANDL are Curt Simon Harlinghausen and Monika Harlinghausen-Smith, a power couple who transformed the Klausmeisterhof at Stockreit 5, a listed building, into a modern yet tradition-preserving space. Here, they actively support young entrepreneurs and run a boutique conference hotel and retreat for discerning conference guests.

Our culture is based on values that are particularly important in WANDL: authenticity, responsibility, integrity, innovation and sustainability.

Authenticity is central to us. Genuineness and consistency in our actions and demeanor, without pretense, are fundamental principles. We don't do things by halves; we get things done. And we prefer partners who are just as authentic as we are.

We take responsibility not only in our daily lives for ourselves, our children, and animals, but also for nature and the environment. We invest in values, maintain and renew existing structures, and show respect for what has already been created.

Integrity is a core value for us. Everyone is welcome, and despite our mountain location and historic preservation regulations, we are fully accessible. We have solutions for people of all sizes and ages.

We live and breathe innovation every day. We're often the first to try things out and are delighted when our companies are among the first to develop something new. We support startups and scale-ups, embrace continuous improvement, or, in modern parlance, innovation loops, to constantly find new and better ways forward.

Here, where we live and where our children are growing up, it's very clear. Those who consider the long-term impact on the environment and society and act responsibly for our grandchildren and their children also get more out of life themselves.
